Meet Pao-Yi Tseng
Pao-Yi (Seraphine) Tseng is a Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac.) and Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner (R.TCM.P.), and is happy to call Vancouver home.
Born and raised in Taiwan, she comes from a family of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioners. Her parents operate a TCM clinic in Taiwan, where her father has been a practicing TCM doctor for over 30 years. Both Pao-Yi and her brother have followed in his footsteps and continue the family tradition after being surrounded by TCM from an early age.
Western Medical Education
Before pursuing Traditional Chinese Medicine, Pao-Yi was an Orthodontist in China after earning a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (Stomatology), and a Master of Oral Medicine (Orthodontics) from Peking University in Beijing.
Her substantial Western medical education provides an additional perspective that she draws upon in her current Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine practice, informing her understanding of anatomy, health and patient care.
TCM & Tung-Style Acupuncture
Pao-Yi subsequently pursued formal education in Acupuncture and TCM in both China and Canada, including studies at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and the Toronto School of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
She is one of the very few Canadians to have completed advanced training in the Tung-style Acupuncture (董氏奇穴), and completed her studies under Dr. Ming Chu Wang of Taipei. This highly specialized technique was developed in Taiwan and notably uses Acupuncture points located away from the area of concern. It is famous for its efficacy and quick results.
